GPU Support
Starting version v1.2, Turbulence.2D supports nVidia graphics cards (or GPUs) to speed up the simulation.
See this link for a complete list of supported cards.
Simulation is usually 5 to 10 times faster than on the CPU. This makes experimenting a lot more intuitive.
Windows
In order to enable GPU Support on Windows, make sure you use the latest nVidia driver.
If you're experiencing any problems, try un-checking the GPU Support checkbox, to fall back to normal CPU simulation.
Mac OS X
In order to enable GPU Support on Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later, you need to install nVidia CUDA, which is a driver that allows Turbulence.2D
to use the GPU for simulation.
You can download it from nVidia here.
IMPORTANT: Make sure, that during installation, all 3 packages are selected, as shown in the images below.
After a reboot, you will have the "GPU support" checkbox in the Turbulence.2D effect menu enabled, as shown below.
If you're experiencing any problems, try un-checking it, to fall back to normal CPU simulation.
